Optional teacher tool
Using Mastery Monitor with Osmia Learning
Some Osmia Learning materials may work with Mastery Monitor, but you never need it to use the lessons. Here's the simple version.
What Mastery Monitor is
Mastery Monitor is a separate progress-tracking tool for teachers. Some teachers use it to record student progress toward standards and learning goals over time. It is its own product and is not part of the free activities on this website.
You can use Osmia lessons without it
Every lesson and teacher resource on Osmia Learning is fully usable on its own. The free activities run in the browser, give students feedback, and produce a simple completion code — none of which requires Mastery Monitor or any other tool.
If you don't use Mastery Monitor, nothing changes. The lessons and teacher resources work exactly the same for you.
Optional import files (planned)
Looking ahead, some teacher resource packs may include optional import files that make it easier to bring a lesson's learning targets into Mastery Monitor. These files are an extra convenience for teachers who already use Mastery Monitor — they are never required, and their absence never limits how you use a lesson.
When a resource offers one, you'll see it marked as Mastery Monitor–ready in the teacher store.
The short version
- Mastery Monitor is a separate tool for teachers.
- Osmia lessons and teacher resources stand on their own.
- Optional import files may be offered later for teachers who want them.
